Can You Make Money With Adsense And WordPress?

Google adsense is the first thing which comes to the mind of a blogger who is thinking to set up a blog and is looking for ways to make money from it. On other side, when it comes to set up a blog, wordpress is the first thing which comes in your mind to satisfy your requirement of a content management system. WordPress is the most powerful CMS for starting up your blog.

WordPress makes it extremely easy to integrate adsense codes in your blog. There are thousands of wordpress adsense plugins which you can use to integrate adsense with your wordpress blog and make money out of it. So first set up your blog using wordpress and install some plugin to integrate adsense to it.

So now you have a blog and you need a way of making money online from your blog. Affiliate marketing is a good option but you need to join various affiliate market places in order to get appropriate affiliate products. Some of the market places for your reference are;

• Clickbank
• Plimus
• Shareasale

But your blog just can’t be a review blog where you write reviews of thousands of products and wait for your blog visitors to buy them.

So you need to write meaningful, informative content to please and attract visitors for your blog. In that case, you will not like to miss out on any money making opportunity which can come to you through content on your blogs.

Google adsense is a very good way of making money online. You can join Google Adsense program to set up your adsense account. Once your account is approved, you can create ads in various shapes and size to suite your blog or website.

Google serves ads in a very effective way by matching the ads with content on your website so that visitors get to see relevant ads thereby increasing the chances of them clicking on it.

But most of the bloggers whether they areusing  wordpress or some other cms complaints about having low income from adsense programs. Now if you are expecting to make big bucks from Google adsense, then don’t expect something like that to happen.

But you can make few thousand dollars per month provided you have got good traffic and good ad placements.

So don’t get excited if you are happy with few thousand dollars every month. Reason is, it is not so simple. To give you a rough idea, to make 1000 dollars per month, you need more than 10000 clicks and to get 10000 clicks, you need at least 50000 visitors per month.

Remember, these numbers are indicative but you need to target these numbers if you are a beginner and just starting up with your blog.

So practically if you are just starting up, getting 50000 visitors is really tough. In fact when I started getting 1000 visitors was a big deal for me.

Having said that, you don’t need to get disappointed or panic because you are not spending anything on it and it is a residual income which will improve if you work upon your blog to improve its traffic.

Sometime even with good amount of traffic it is not that easy to make money with adsense because though there are visitors but they are not clicking on ads.

Ad placement is the most important thing in getting conversion rate. People often put ads in sidebar which is one of the most common mistakes among bloggers.

Adding your ads in post is a good idea. But don’t add them in way it can annoy your visitors. Putting big banners and rectangular ads in your post will definitely push them away.

You can use a small banner at the top of the post after headline and a small banner in the middle of the post followed by a rectangular ad unit after the post.

My conversion rate has gone up significantly after implementing this set up.

This way you cannot only achieve the optimum conversion rate but also make sure that they are not annoyed.

You can use your sidebar widgets to display your affiliate ads.

Ads in sidebar had a very low conversion rate for me. In fact, I don’t think it’s possible to have a clear view about ad placement in blogs.

It may vary from one blog to another. So you should experiment with various ad formats and positions in your blog. There are lots of wordpress adsense plugin which can make your job whole lot easy. You can easily change the position and size of ads on your blog if it is powered by wordpress.

So you can definitely make money using Google Adsense on your WordPress blogs but it needs little bit of planning and careful monitoring of results.
