Google Book- Can it replace Amazon and iTunes?  Google has recently launched Google Play which is a marketplace for online products like music, movies and books. Google Book is a market place dedicated to books. You can easily purchase books at Google Book. They provide you options of downloading it to your favorite devices which are compatible with it and also you can read books in the browser itself.

Google Book provides an easy to navigate interface and you can use your existing Google login credentials to login and check it out.  It is very good place to look for the books on a specific topic, so for example- if you are researching on microbiology, you can simply search it in Google Book with “microbiology” and it will give you results.

Though there are other markets for books like amazon but if you don’t have Kindle then you will have to depend upon the hard copy of the book whereas on Google Book, you can download it instantly on your PC, laptop or any tablet. The best part about Google Book is the option of Preview. You can go through some of the pages of the book to see if it satisfies your needs.

Often we depend upon user reviews to see if book is good but if we can have the preview then we can decide ourselves. Even if you don’t have a tablet pc, you can use it easily because the user interface provided is so good that reading a book in browser is really pleasing.

There are many books, especially old books, whose soft copies are not available and you cannot read them on your tablet, pc or laptop. You have to buy their hard copy to read them but on Google Book, you can find their soft copies. It is a new product from Google and it is still in its nascent stage and nothing can be said about its future.

But the way Google book or Google Play is shaping up it could be the next big thing from Google. Till now, we have heavily depended upon Amazon and iTunes to buy downloadable content but with the help of Google Book, we are getting a new option. Prices are also better and some of the books are cheaper at Google Book in comparison of other sites.
