Acer has launched Acer Aspire S5 on January 08 2012. Acer Aspire S5 is claimed to be the world’s thinnest laptop computer. It is presented as a rival to legendary Apple’s Macbook Air. It is prepared to debut in the CES (International Consumer Electronic show) in Las Vegas, USA. Acer is planning to sell Acer Aspire S5 in second quarter of the 2012.
Acer Aspire is launched in a press conference in Vegas where it’s chief J. T. Wang said that “We are committed to evolving this technology,”. He further added “By the second quarter of this year we will have four models of ultrabook and more to come”.
Acer Aspire S5 will run on window 8. Microsoft will be launching window 8 operating system sometime later this year.Acer Aspire S5 has a 34-cm (13.3-inch) screen and is 15 mm at its thickest point. The ultrabook weighs slightly less than 1.35 kg (three pounds). This launch is quite significant for Acer as it will put it in the big league of ultra books. As Acer Aspire S5 will run on windows, it is not going to compete with Apple but it is going to challenge every other machine in the town running on windows.
Specifications are not clear yet but don’t expect much to be at that front. It will be in line with other ultrabooks in the range but it’s real USP is its size. Design look clean and built quality is good. Acer has not been in a wonderful shape for some time now and sales were going down. With the launch of this new product, it is definitely going to boost company’s confidence. They are going to offer cloud facility with this laptop where users will get service of storing their data online.
It will be great to see Acer Aspire S5 live in action.
This is way bteetr than a brick & mortar establishment.
