Blackberry Playbook was launched in June 2011 in India. And since its inception, it has not seen high sales number so this step is seen as a step taken to push sale. Competition is already tough in this segment with many multinational brands have already positioned themselves in this space.
Companies like Reliance communications and Bharti Airtel are already selling tablet at the prices of Rs 12,999 and Rs 9999. India is expected to see a sharp rise in the sales of electronic gadgets like smart phones and tablets. There is increased demand of these kinds of products among the youth.
Blackberry Playbook is placed to cater this segment and possibly with this sharp drop in their prices, they may rise to the occasion. 2011 has not been very good for most of the companies across globe and across sectors, so customers can expect more offers to come in the coming few months.
Blackberry play has got an average review on for performance, looks & feel and it was kind of overpriced at Rs 27990 and Rs 32,990.
