Technology has been shaping the world for last couple of decades. It has made thing easier and better. Lot of technology updates has happened in advertising industry which has helped advertisers in better targeting. But still there are lots of gaps and conversion rate and return on investment is too low as far as advertising is concerned. But intel is working to change that.

So far you have been going pass signage which show generic ads which may or may not excite you. Sometime or rather most of the time, it is quite random if you relate to that ad or not. So as targeting has been random, chances of conversions are also low resulting in lower return on investment. Currently Intel is working to designed digital signage with algorithm to deliver better targeting. It will use optical sensors and gather information like your gender, age etc and show ads which are more targeted towards you rather than a female watching a ad of male deodorant which doesn’t make any sense for her and vice versa.

Intelligent Technology Powering Advertising

Not only Intel, there are other firms also like Cisco and Yahoo which are going to bring new stuff on table which will shape up the advertising industry’s future. Global signage market size is expected to grow to $4.5 billion from the current $1.3 billion. Cisco would be offering Videoscape architecture will offer cloud based ad display. Ben Hollin, senior manager, IP Video Solutions Strategy and Business Developments at Cisco Systems said that” By 2013, we expect service providers will be delivering ads within both linear and on-demand content as well as within interactive elements. Cisco’s goal is to enable them to insert ads into video streams along with device interactivity regardless of the differences in video formats”.

As traditional marketing has been going hi-tech, digital advertising has become quite important in today’s world. Yahoo too is going to have an important say in digital advertising space due to its strong online media presence. Its video services are used by more than a million users. There are lot of other technology firms involved in developing solution which will pave way for a new high-tech advertising space.
